 Description

Based on the characteristics and content of this monument and on the pottery found, it can be dated to the middle of the second century AD. Despite its unique nature, it was not identified until 1891 by the historian, Joaquim Botet i Sisó.
The tower is prismatic in shape with a square base and is comprised of a base separated from the rest of the structure by rows of tegula roof tiles placed as ornamentation, a slightly narrower central core and a type of roof on the upper part, which would once have been crowned by a pyramid-shaped finish.
Its total height is 4.15 m. Inside the base is an oval-shaped space where the ashes of the cremated were placed. The monument -next to an ancient footpath-
