 Description

Designed by the Modernist architect, Josep Puig i Cadafalch, with the collaboration of the sculptor, Eusebi Arnau, creator of the two figures which appear on the column. Portrayals of St. George and a religious scene can be seen here, with the shield of the Bishopric above them. The Creu de Terme (Boundary Cross) was inaugurated on 1 May 1898 and the poet, Mossèn Jacint Verdaguer, in his chant called "The Cross", devoted three verses to it, which were set to music by the composer, Candi.
